Swimming Fun!

We love to swim and are so sad that the summer is almost over! We had the Maes family over to swim and have pizza like we have done a lot this summer. Treyvan and Rilee are turning into really great swimmers. Rilee is perfecting her dives and is learning to swim like a pro! Treyvan is swimming without floaties now for the first time and is so proud of himself. Treyvan loves to "cannonball" into the water and try to get everyone wet! Rowyn loves the water and has NO FEAR! She loves to throw balls in the pool and rocks!!

For the Fourth of July we went up to Utah to See The Kirkham's. We had a great time watching the fireworks sitting on their front lawn after a yummy BBQ! Rowyn was so brave! She was not scared by the fireworks! Rilee Treyvan, and Rowyn liked the wrestling and tickling on the grass after the finale as much as the fireworks. Thanks for the great time Grandpa, Grandma, Katie and Angela. Love you guys!

Fun with the Porter Family!

The kids and I met Celeste and he met up with Celeste and her kids at Thanksgiving Point while The boys went golfing. We went to the Dinosaur Museum, ate lunch at the diner, and got yummy bananna splits after! We all had a great time. Celeste still hung out with me despite the fact that I had to buy a stroller and the only one they had was a Dora The Explorer one. That is a real friend! Right?Ha Ha!

THe first day we got to Hawaii we met Celeste and Brady at the resort they were staying at. We had a great time swimming in the infinity pool looking at the ocean. The rest of the day we spent going down waterslides and playing on rope swings. It was too fun. We had such a great time that we did the same thing the next day!

We had fun at the beautiful beaches in Maui. At the Beach by Celeste and Brady's Resort there was a slide out in the middle of the water. It was harder than it looked to climb up but funny to watch people attemt and a blast to go down it. We went boogie boarding at another beach one day. Jen and I got thrashed around quite abit. It was entertaining to everyone else on the beach watching. We figured between the two of us we had enough sand in our suits to make a huge sandcastle! I had sand in my hair for days and Jen still had sand in her suit after we came home.

Adventures in Maui!

This is B-Rad and Dog! They were our guides for the Rafting/Snorkeling tour we took. They were Hilarious! Maybe a little crazy on the driving but hanging on for dear life was half of the fun of the trip! We saw some amazing caves and rock formations. The snorkeling was amazing and we got to see an eel, a reef shark, lots of fish a turtle and even dolphins. The water was a little cold but it was great fun!
This was too funny! Anyone who knows Matt knows that he is not the most "huggy" kind of guy. Jen told Dog to give him a big huge hug at the end of our snorkeling trip.
Here are the girls in our gear for the zip line. What a fun time that was. We had some great guides and the ziplines were so much fun. Poor Matt was sick that day and so he didn't go. Nothing worse than going all the way to Maui and getting sick! Bummer!
This was the best part about the zipline was watching Chris and his long legs! Look at those legs! Chris had to lift his legs up so he didn't drag them on the ground! Chris was a good sport and very entertaining to watch. We love you Chris!
The last day in Maui Brock found this Camelion. It was so cool. Brock messed with it a little too long though. The poor little guy was ready to attack.

Piano Recital

Rilee had a piano recital and played both of her songs perfectly! I am so proud of her and how well she is doing. She loves her piano teacher and loves to practice! Good Job Riles and keep up the great work. After the Recital there was a banana split bar for everyone. Treyvan ended up with a bunch of Bananas. What a goober! Rowyn thought it was all so exciting that she fell asleep and Oma held her out on the couch in the church foyer. Thanks Oma for the help and for coming!

Nikki Mangin 5K

Jen's life long friend Nikki was killed a few years ago in an accident. This was the first annual race in her name. All of Jen's friends that she played Volleyball with in High School were involved in helping with this event. They set up a scholarship fund in Nikkis name and the Boulder girls get to choose who it goes to. They did a great job! I went out early with Jen to help do the balloon arch and had a blast. I did not train for the race (like and idiot) but decided to run it anyway. Thanks to Brigit (who recently did a triathlon) I made it to the finish line in 29 minutes! You are the Best Brigit! There must have only been two people my age that ran the 5K because I was second in my age group! Matt ran like a champ and made it in 23 minutes. After the race we (Matt, me, Jen and Chris) all went to the JW Marriot and had a massage. It was FABULOUS!! That night we went to Ruth's Chris, played until late, and then spent the night at the Marriot. (Thanks Oma for keeping the kids!) Thanks for the fun times guys! Next year we will have to do it again and maybe I will even be prepared to run the 5K!

I can't believe it has been a year since my Rowyn was born. Time flies by too fast. I wish that I could bottle her up and keep her little for longer. Rowyn started walking right before her first birthday. We were all surprised at how well she did. She is such a chubby baby with a bum, a belly, and some thunder thighs. She must have some strong legs to hold up that body beautiful!She has worked hard to get that body! The girl will eat anything! She has a mouth full of teeth so we can bring on the beef! She does love chocolate more than veggies... smart girl! She is so much fun and so much work! She is the best baby and always happy but she is in to everything! Rowyn and Treyvan are double trouble together. Matt started calling her Lucy. Don't be fooled though, she has him wrapped around her little finger. Sassy and all, she is loved! Treyvan and Rowyn also have a ton of fun wrestling together. Yes, my sweet little girl is a Brut. She can hold her own against her four year old brother. The other day all the kids were laughing hysterically in the other room with their dad. When I went into the room to see what was so funny , I was shocked! I saw Treyvan throwing a basketball (Toy one, but still) at Rowyns face. It was hard to get mad at Treyvan because Rowyn was laughing at the top of her lungs every time she got hit with the ball (despite the fact that her face was bright red and it had to hurt right?) Rowyn loves her sister Rilee too and gives her the most kisses. She gets so excited when she comes home from school. Rowyn loves her bed and Binkis. She is so easy to put down for a nap and bedtime. Rowyn is such a joy to have in our family! We love you baby!

Field Trip

Rilee's class went on a field trip to the Natural History Museum. Part of the fun for mom as the chaperone was the bus ride..... Matt, (a friend of Rilee's) gave me more information than rilee wanted him to. He filled me in on the gossip of the class. It was too funny to watch Rilee blush! At the very end Matt informed me that I should give him Rilee's number because she wanted him to call her. I thought Rilee was going to die! She screamed, "No I don't"! The look of sheer horror on her face was priceless. After the field trip we went back to the school for pizza. It was a fun day! We love Miss Martinez and think she is the greatest teacher there is!

Richfield Utah

We (Jen, Me and 7 rugrats) went to visit the Harwords in Richfield, Utah. We had a great time hanging with them. We miss them since they moved away. We went swimming in the hotel pool, played at "grandma's park", and ate yummy food! We brought Cassidy (one of our favorite babysitters) and all of us shared the same hotel room! We had a great time! We will have to go back again soon! Love you guys!

What can I say? These pictures say it all! Ali Easley took the most amazing pictures ever!I am amazed at what a talentedphotographer she is!!! We went to Coronado Beach and it was so beautiful! Treyvan had a blast jumping off the rocks (thanks Taylor for catching him) and Rilee just loved twirling around on the sand while Rowyn tasted her first sand....Yuk! We wanted to stay longer and play with the Easleys and the Oblads on the gorgeous beach but we had to head back to Vegas.

Disneyland

On Wednesday I decided to surprise the kids and take them to Disneyland!!!!! We picked Rilee up from school with the car packed and all ready to go. When I told Rilee where we were going, she could not believe it and she had to write a story about it! When we got to the Easley's house (yeah!) that night Treyvan was more excited to play with all the boys than going to Disneyland!! He had a blast playing legos and hangn' out with his boys Jonah and Casey. He loved little Harper too. He still talks about all the cute things he did and laughs at how funny he is. Rilee loved the boys too and she really thought Tiffany and Kenzie were too cool. Rowyn instantly made friends with Michael and they were best buds! We had a great time at Disneyland for two days and I think I got my work out with two kids in the stroller and Rowyn (who is super light:)) in a sling! Tiffany was so sweet to go on rides with us (thanks Tiff) and Treyvan instantly developed a crush on her. Rilee and Treyvan loved all the Rides (even Thunder Mountain) except for the Haunted mansion. I still feel bad that they were so scared...mean mom! Of coarse one of the favorites was Pirates of The Caribbean! Treyvan said", I am gonna punch Davey in the Jones!" That boy always has something funny to say! during the parade Rilee was wearing a Princess Tiara and two of the seven dwarfs bowed down to her and kissed her hand! Rowyn was awestruck at all of the things to see and she was a perfect baby! Everywhere we went people commented on her chubby legs! She loved Harper and it was so cute to see her love on him while we were in line for rides (even if he loved to poke her eyes:)!) Everything was magical except for the people! The picture with Ali and Harper was during the firework show. We got a spot early and sat to wait. Harper and the rest of us had to look straight up to see because a bunch of adults stood right in front of the kids! Ali wanted to slice their legs with piano wire and she wondered why they did not sell that at the gift shop! We got a good laugh anyway! We had a great time and we did not want to leave. Rilee said, "Mom we cannot leave Disneyland without a Churro." She is right on those things are so Yummy! We love Disneyland and we can't wait to go back! Thanks again Easley clan, we love you!!

Fondant Fun and Not the mom of the year!

I will have to say I am not as good at playing with my kids as I would like to be but we love to cook and bake and dance to loud music! This week Rilee helped me make a cake for a baby shower and she really loved rolling out the fondant and cutting out each little flower. She did a great job helping! I love these moments with her and it is so fun to hear her jabber about the life of a second grader! After sampling a few cupcakes and licking the bowl, Rilee said, "Mom, I had too much treats so I need to go FLOSSL(floss)!"

Treyvan almost lost his life a few times trying to "help" and almost knocking over the cake and sticking his finger in the cupcakes. He was really happy to just eat the cupcakes and he was really good at putting the liners in the pans!
Speaking of Treyvan, this brings me to why I should get the mom of the year award!
Treyvan: "Mom, sometimes parents say bad words."
Me: "Oh yeah?"
Treyvan: "kids can't but parents can because they are taller!"

I love this boy and he always has something to say that makes me laugh, just like his dad!

Orange Advance Belt

Who would have known that my sweet and shy little Rilee would be good at Tai Kwando? She was so excited to test and move from a white belt to an orange advance (skipping the orange). We are so glad that Steph told us about this class. Rilee and Treyvan love to go with their cousins Connor and Kenna. Every one was testing except for Treyvan ( he looked pitiful in the corner with the little kids) but he was a good sport and excited for Connor Kenna and Rilee to get their new belts! Congratulations guys! If you can't tell from the picture, Treyvan absolutley loves Connor! He wants to eat what Connor does, wear what Connor does etc, etc. The other Day Treyvan asked, "Can Connor be my Brother?" Connor is so sweet to let Treyvan follow him around.

For ValentiMes he kids always get cute Jammies! We make a cake for Matt and decorate his office with hearts. This year we only did the cake! Every year I give Rilee (now Rowyn too) a bracelet and Treyvan a "Guy" and Chocolate. He has a major sweet tooth! The bracelets are so sweet! I love them! I love too see my BIG FAT BABY on the website too! We always make pink pancakes for breakfast and have heart shaped PB and J for lunch! Cheesy but fun! Our favorite part about Valentines is doorbell ditching a treat on some ones door!!! Ok, I just have to say that this year Matt did really Great! He woke me up and gave me a sweet card(that he admitted came from the sports illustrated:) ha ha!) and gave me a gift certificate to Nordstrom! The best part is that he made me a CD! I love it and my kids ask to listen to the CD Dad made me every day! To top it all off, we went with Jen and Chris to Ruth's Chris...YUM! Thanks for being the greatest hubby ever, I love you Matt!

Bobo's Birthday!

Johnny turned the big 30 on the 15th and we (Johnny Steph, Me Matt, Josh and Liz) went to ESPN ZONE to celebrate! We had a great time playing games before we ate (even me Steph). Steph beat Matt at Air Hockey and Matt was happy to beat everyone at hoops! The food was yummy as always and after dinner we went to Coca Cola Factory like tourists. We got a Coke float and sampled lots of other kinds of floats....my favorite was cherry slurpee float yum! We had a blast! Johnny is the greatest Brother ever! I love how Matt and Johnny are so much alike(even the way they walk...make sure you know who's rear you are pinching!) Johnny is a great friend and we could not ask for a better brother. I always wanted an OLDER Brother:) and I could not think of a better choice! We Love you Johnny! (you too Steph!) Thanks again for dinner!

Aunt Ruth Faust

I have mixed emotions about the passing of Aunt Ruth. She died sunday morning at the age of 86. I know she missed Uncle Jim very much and so I am glad that they can be reunited. They were so in love and such a good example to all of us. Just imagine the reunion they are having right now! President and Sister Hinkley and My Grandma and Grandpa(her sister and brother in law) and many others!

This picture was taken at a Wright family reunion at my dad's house. I was pregnant with Treyvan and Rilee was just three. I feel so blessed to have had the chance to sit and talk and laugh with her and hold her sweet, soft hands. She was so Wise, down to earth, and loving. She had the greatest smile! My dad and I were talking about the "Wright" resemblance and she really did look a lot like my grandma! Aunt Ruth will be missed here on earth and I do not look forward to the day that I outlive my parents; but I am so glad for the knowledge we have.

A great Example

Stairs!!!!

Ok, My life will never again be the same....my baby started crawling, cruising furniture, and climbing stairs all in the same week!!! Yikes! Why must they grow so fast? I am sure that Rowyn's interest in the stairs has nothing to do with the fact that Rilee and Treyvan slide down them in their pillowcases! Rowyn just loves to watch her brother and sister. Dad taught them that fun trick that they don't seem to forget. It is funny to watch Rilee slowly and carefully slide down the stairs and Treyvan just barrel down as fast as he can! Rilee could hardly breethe she was laughing so hard and Treyvan must have gone up and down the stairs 5 times in the amount of time it took Rilee to go down once. What a wild man! Rowyn has him to learn from all day. What am I in for? Lots of laughs I am sure.

An A-Maes-n sleepover!

We had the chance to watch the Maes gang this weekend! We love these guys so much! Treyvan loves the fact that when Gavin and Cameron are over he is not the only boy! He loves Tessa too. Even though Gabby and Treyvan butt heads sometimes he still loves her like a sister...they are just too much alike! The boys had a blast playing their little hearts out with cars and star wars ! Rilee loves the triplets and gabby to pieces! Gabby and Rilee were so lucky to be in the same class in Kindergarten and first grade and she just got used to seeing her everyday. Now that they are in different schools and don't see each other as much, Rilee was so excited to have her best friend spend the night. It is fun to see how much they have changed since these pictures were taken. These girls were too funny. Tessa plays so great with the boys and the girls(she soes have two brothers the same age) but she mostly played school and dress up with gabs and Riles! All of the kids turned up the music and had a dance party. It was hilarious! Little Cam has some moves. My kids were sad when it was time for the Maes gang to go back home! We had a great time and EVERYONE was so good!

Treyvan and Rilee have lots of fun with their cousins Connor and Kenna at Karate. Rilee and Treyvan were so excited this week to get stripes on their belt. When I asked Treyvan if he had fun at Karate he said, "Mom, it's not Karate...it's TWAI- KWANDWO!"

Fun weekend with Cousins!

We LOVE all of our cousins! We feel so lucky that everyone lives here and that we can all see each other often. We had a blast this weekend when Kenna, Connor, and Cash spent the night. The kids had agreat time! Treyvan want to be just like Connor and followed him around everywhere he went. They made forts and played the wii and with Treyvans remote control Helicopter. Connor was so sweet to Treyvan. He even made him feel like a big boy and helped him in the shower. Rilee and Kenna had fun doing "girls" stuff, playing house and painting nails. Cash was a really good boy and I just had to laugh at all the cute and big words he can say. Rowyn and Cash had a blast in the tub. They are so stinkn' cute. I just love all of these guys! All of the kids played their little hearts out and were so good. One night we went to Mc Donald's to eat and play. I didn't think much of it but everyone at Mc Donald's stared at me as I walked in to the play place with 6 kids 7 and under. A few people asked with amazement, "Are those all yours?" I was surprised someone didn't give me a birth control tip or two. I would love claim them all and I wanted to say they were all mine because it could be possible that they were. Why is it such a strange thing to see 6 kids? It isn't that many....Is it?

Big Fat Baby Jewelry!

My friend Mandi has a friend that has a website called Big Fat Baby Jewelry. They have the cutest jewelry ever! Rowyn got the chance to show off her chubby wrists and model some of the new bracelets that will be going on the Big Fat Baby Jewelry Website. There is also cute blankets, bibs, and bows on her website. I just want to eat my big fat baby!!!

These are just a few of the pictures I took of Rowyn while she was modeling the Big Fat Baby Jewelry. Rilee and Treyvan were so cute. They kept making her look all different directions "helping me" make her laugh! I cannot believe how time flies. Rowyn is growing so fast. She loves to shake her head "NO NO" and say "dis". She says "da da" and "ba ba" but even though I try to coach her, she still doesn't say "ma ma"! She is a mama's girl and she flaps her arms like she is trying to take flight when she sees me come in the room or herself in the mirror. Rowyn loves to get around and does not let her size slow her down. She is not "crawling" but scooting, or worming, or something in between. It works. Her favorite thing to do is to pull herself up to the couch so she can stand and see what is going on. She has a huge smile that shows lots of teeth and laughs all the time! Be careful when holding her! She gets so excited that she bites, and hard! When we were taking pictures she really had a thing for this piece of grass! As sweet as she is, she will tell you if she is pissed and she would get ticked when I tried to take the grass away. So, chewing on the grass it is! Those eyes! All of my kids are so lucky to have the Johnson eyes like their Dad. Those baby blues just melt me. I have loved having a baby around again so much! I might be crazy but I miss when she would get up during the night! With the day to day craziness; night time feeding and rocking was my time with just her. I tried to hang on to each moment but it still went by too fast.

Our Beloved Prophet

I am sure that everyone has mixed feelings about the passing of our Prophet Gordon B. Hinkley. I know he will be greatly missed but there is a part of me that is happy for him to be with his sweet wife.
We were on our way home from the "It's great to be 8 fireside"(Which was fabulous thanks guys!) when I checked my phone and heard the sad news. Rilee said, "But he is so sweet! I just wanted to give him a hug, and I never even got to shake his hand. I can't wait to see him in heaven and now he can look out for us from heaven. " I love to see things through children's eyes. I think that is part of why I love Primary so much.
We also had our ward conference on Sunday. As intimidating as it is to have the Stake leaders there they are so wonderful. It made us all feel so good to have them say that they were impressed with the reverence of our kids. We love those primary kids and I have to say I have the best counselors and secretary ever! (thanks guys for everything!)

Aunt Edeltrud

Matt's aunt Edeltrud came to visit last week. We were able to go out to dinner with her and then invade Johnny and Steph's house with all the Johnson clan (18 grandkids and 13 Adults) for a feast of Brats! Matt makes a really dang good Brat I have to say! It was lots of fun and we were so sad to see her go. I wish I knew how to say anything to her in German. Matt taught our kids to say haltegosh (shut up ) but that is all I know. Thanks Johnny and Steph for letting us crash your house!

Rowyn's well check

Rilee and Treyvan were hiding under their jackets so they did not have to see Rowyn get her shots at the doctor this afternoon. Goobers. They had a harder time that she did. She was tough as nails! Matt wondered if she even felt the shots in those thighs! I said she is just brave. The Doctor heard a murmur...I hope everything is ok. He said not to worry and he would check again at one year. Oh, I forgot the BIGGEST NEWS.... Rowyn is 26 lbs Tiny! Chubbalicious! Why isn't my cottage cheese cute?

Pick a Winner!

Treyvan has a hard time keeping his hands to himself and not "picking" on Rilee. I am always telling him to quit picking on her. I guess his solution is to pick his nose. When I told him to stop picking his nose he kept saying that he was not picking his nose. I told him I was watching him and to stop! He said, "mom, I am not picking my nose, I am just scratching my brain." Apparently his brain itches a lot! Boys will be boys!

Do you ever have a day when you feel like you are really HOT like this? I had big plans to go to the gym with my work out girls, (Steph-the hottest sister in law I claim as a sister with awesome legs, and Jen- the hottest always perfect hair havn friend that makes sweats look good) but everyones kids were sick. I could have gone by myself but that was not hard to talk myself out of! Instead, I put on my sweats and cleaned house all day. I make this picture look good! I wonder if Rilee is too young to be emberrased by her mom?! Good thing Matt is out of town. I will be sure to de-scrounge myself before he comes back in town tomorrow, but for now I will stay in my sweats. The even more pitiful part is that Rilee has a hip hop class tonight that I plan to go to as is and I don't care. :)

Pretzel

Rilee and Treyvan are always so excited to go see Grandpa and Grandma Kirkham In Utah! They love to make gingerbread houses and most of all make snowmen, go sledding, and play in the snow.

Christmas Time

Here are the kids in their cute Christmas Outfits after church. We went Bowling with the (Marc) Johnson family, the Heizelbetz family, and Oma and Opa. The kids had a great time. After bowling we worked up an appetite so we went to th Olive Garden to eat. When we got home we got the kids Jammies on and set out the cookies they made for Santa. Santa mailed Rilee and Treyvan a special letter this year and so they were extra excited. He said that he loves to watch Rilee Golf and Dance and he is proud of her Piano practicing and the sweet big sister she is. He also said that he laughs when he watches Treyvan and him many stunts. He said he likes to watch him at Karate and that best of all secretly Santa is a Dallas Cowboys fan like treyvan and his Dad! The next morning Rilee was thrilled to get and Ipod and some baby stuff. Treyvan was so happy with his pirate sip, remote control car and helicopter and best of all him marshmallow shooter. Santa also left the Wii for the whole family. The kids love it. Rilee is patient with Treyvan always wanting to be #1! Rowyn was more interested in the wrapping paper than anything else!!

Thanksgiving 2007

I love Thanksgiving but not for the same reasons as Matt. Cowboys play and that is enough said. I wish I could say that I cared to watch more than eat all the yummy food but football will never make me as happy as mashed potatoes and apple pie! Rilee loves to help me make an apple pie every year and she and Treyvan look forward to playing with all of the cousins and the bounce house! I also enjoy playing games and chatting with the fam!

Treyvan's birthday November 20th 2007 at Chuck E. Cheese. He called it Chruck ur Treat! He had a great time on the rides, opening presents and giving Chuck E. Cheese a high five. It was worth eating cardboard pizza to see the smile on his face!

Marissa got Married on October 4th 2007in the SLC Temple to Seth Wright. We Love him! A week later she had a small reception in vegas. It was great to see how happy she was at both.

California Trip with the Maes

We had a blast going to California in November! We went to a Ducks hockey game, saw the play Wicked, and ate yummy food! It was too cold to go tho the beach but Chris had to stick his toes in the sand.
